There are two ways to run ads on TikTok.
- Non-Spark Ads (Twitchy): The ad comes from a "fake" handle. You upload the video file directly to Ads Manager. It doesn't live on any profile.
- Spark Ads (Native): The ad is a real organic post. You "boost" it. It lives on a real Creator's profile (or your Brand's profile).
The Data: Why Spark Ads Win
TikTok hates "Ads." TikTok loves "Content." Spark Ads look like Content.
- Engagement: +142%.
- CVR: +43%.
- Trust: Infinite. When users see a Spark Ad, they can click the + button to follow the creator. They can view the profile. It feels real.
How to Set Up Spark Ads
- Get the Code: Go to the video on the TikTok App → Share → Ad Settings → Generate Code.
- Authorize: Go to Ads Manager → Assets → Spark Ads → Apply for Authorization.
- Launch: Select "Spark Ad" in the Ad Level.
Strategy: The "Influencer Spark"
Don't just Spark your own posts. Pay an Influencer to make a video. Ask them for the Spark Code. Run the ad from Their Handle. Why: "Gymshark" running an ad is boring. "FitnessJulia" raving about Gymshark is compelling.
Summary
Non-Spark Ads are for drop-shippers. Spark Ads are for Brands. If you want to build a community and lower your CPA, use Spark.
