LinkedIn Ads Spy Tools & Competitor Analysis

Stop guessing what copy works. Stop guessing what images work. Your competitors have already spent thousands of dollars A/B testing it for you. You just need to look at the answers.
The Tool: LinkedIn Ad Library
Go to your competitor's Company Page. Click Posts → Ads. Boom. You can see every active ad they are running. What to look for:
- Date Active: If an ad has been active for 90 days, it is profitable. Steal the concept.
- Format: Are they running mostly Video or Single Image? Follow their lead.
- Hooks: What is the first sentence of their copy?
Paid Tools: Are they worth it?
Tools like AdBeat or Semrush claim to show LinkedIn data. Honestly? They are weak. LinkedIn's API is very closed. The best way to spy is the manual way (Ad Library) or by creating a "Dummy Profile." The Dummy Profile Strategy:
- Create a fake LinkedIn profile with the job title "VP of Marketing at [Target Company]."
- Visit your competitor's website.
- Scroll your feed.
- Screenshot every ad that retargets you.
Analyzing the Funnel
Don't just look at the ad. Click it. Where does it go?
- Landing Page: What is the headline? What is the offer?
- Lead Form: What questions are they asking? The "Thank You" Page Hack: Fill out their form. See what happens on the Thank You page. Do they offer a calendar booking? A PDF download? This tells you their entire backend sales process.
Summary
Creativity is overrated. Research is underrated. Spend 2 hours analyzing your top 5 competitors. Then build something better.
